A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all students learn differently and should be treated as so; with this being said i believe that each student should work at their own pace and should be helped to find strategies that help them learn.
I currently have a bachelors degree in sociology with a minor in elementary education. During the past 4 years and working in the early childhood education industry I realized that many teachers were not getting the proper training that they needed to receive to help the children that they are serving. Once I realized this I decided to work on my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education in hopes that i could be an Early Childhood College Professor and teach students the ins and outs of the early childhood industry. I like the one on one aspect of tutoring. I enjoy teaching, but I really like tutoring because I get to know the child and am able to help him/her with his or her specific area of need. I like to make learning fun by playing learning games with the student. I am a Christian and I believe all children are unique and have their own abilities. While studying at the University of Oklahoma, I became interested in tutoring and helping those less fortunate. I began tutoring at a program called Tuesday Tutors which provides free-of-charge tutoring to all students Junior High level and above (although we often helped out Elementary students who stopped by). I also became active in ESL/Literacy tutoring. I tutored ESL for 7 months prior to graduating. I have now graduated with three Bachelor degrees and am now seeking a Master's in Philosophy. I still tutor whenever I get the chance and am currently helping an ADHD/Dyslexic student to boost his reading level.
