Drawing is one of my top subjects!

I have worked as an English, Math, and Science tutor at both the undergraduate and graduate level for the past 7 years. In my 40+ years of experience in the field of education, I have taught full time at all grade levels, from pre-school to teacher training. In the field of adult education have taught writing to Chinese-speaking adults, which enabed them to pass the California teacher exam. I have taught remedial reading classes, and after-school tutoring programs at education centers and in individual homes.
My teaching style centers around the value of the students. They deserve respect and are required to give respect. My students are generlly relaxed in my classroom, but expected to work to their best ability. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been interested in teaching. I love the idea of being able to pass my knowledge along to younger generations. Without the teachers and mentors that I have had over the years, I would not me as successful as I am now. Working with children is extremely exciting for me. Helping a child develop is an amazing gift and I cant wait to be able to do so.

I believe that an open dialogue is a teacher's most needed resource. Any child needs to feel as though he or she can express concerns or apprehensions without the fear of feeling embarrassed or stupid. I truly believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Teaching should, of course, relay necessary information, but it should also foster a student's drive to succeed, as well as the knowledge that any goal can be reached through perserverance.
