A Little Bit About Me...

I am driven to help others especially through education. I have a BS in Biology and Chemistry from Duke University which allowed me to have in depth understanding of both subjects. Furthermore I have experience tutoring a college bound student with Biology and Pre-calculus, furthermore I have additional tutoring experience in math, reading, language and all areas of the sciences.
I believe that education is the key to success and I hope to encourage my students to see the fun and excitement in learning rather than treating it as a task they have to do. I am very creative and patient when it comes to teaching my students. I think all children have natural curiosity and it just needs to be sparked by a patient and fun person. I hope to be that person for my students.

I recently graduated from Wake Forest University with a biology major and minors in economics and philosophy. In completing the premedical requirements I received a rigorous education in the basic sciences while still taking a broad spectrum of courses through my minors. I enjoyed and excelled most in genetics, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. As I currently apply to medical school, I believe tutuoring is an ideal venue to use education to help other students master complex ideas and achieve their goals. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a disciplinarian. I have an excellent ability to gain a students attention, keep it and the results of my students have been well above average. I have a knack to bring into the classroom, outside events (latest ball games, Olympics, etc.) to establish a 'bond' between myself and the student. This allows me to gain their confidence as well as not create a bored atmosphere. I find this very important, especially with the more difficult students.
As seen from above, I have valid tutoring experience in both middle grades and HS. I was in the student teaching program at Wake Forest and upon graduation, I was a substitute teacher in the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County School system. I also participated in the Junior Achievement program in the Piedmont NC region for over 5 years. I am currently a tutor with the "No Child Left Behind Program."
