I love to incorporate art and sensory experiences into everything I do to really activate the brain. The "Drill and Kill" is very rarely appropriate, so I tailor every approach individually. What works for one student may not work with another. Since I have entered the teaching profession I have worked with children of all elementary levels. This experience has provided me with the tools to work with all types of children from grades K-5. Since I have graduated from IUP I have worked primarily in an urban setting which has afforded me the opportunity to work with children of various backgrounds from affluent to homeless. I have done various forms of tutoring in Reading and Math in preparation for the state administered tests. My ability to break things down to a level where students can understand more thoroughly has always been a string point for me. This coupled with my ability to develop a strong rapport with students has produced a positive result. I have large amounts of energy and enthusiasm that children gravitate to. On the recent term assessment for Charlottesville City Schools my children scored an 86% average.

As a current college student working towards my degree in fine art and also having my own private tutor in art growing up, I believe I have gained the skills and understanding of art to pass on my knowledge and expertise to others that I may teach I have worked with children for more than 5 years, ranging from private in-home nanny, to a director of a summer camp program. I am certified in first aid and CPR training for children and adults as well as medication administration in case of emergencies.
