I have been studying education since my high school graduation in hopes of one day being the choir director at my high school.At the moment I am a student at UTEP studying bilingual elementary education and plan to receive a masters in music education after receiving my bachelors degree. I am currently a subsitute teacher and am hoping to continue helping students with their studies in the summer and weekends. In my schooland work experience I have worked with children of all grade levels and all subjects.

A Little Bit About Me...

The simple love of learning that I exuded in the classroom setting was initially enough fuel for my fire to enjoy being in the presence of this age group. I found that allowing some sense of humor to the situation in instructing most subjects eased the pain for the children who may not have wanted to be there. All children did want to learn. My getting them together at such a young age to interact with one another and problem solve alone or together was a joy to watch. I constantly combined subjects to allow the student to make use of their initial talents. Be it in writing, speaking, the use of art or music, I wanted the student to explore each inner strength. Each child is different. On a one on one setting, it would be advantageous to allow the student some freedom so that their learning style leads to maximum learning. My goal is to teach the student to love self-learning so that the student appreciates learning without a tutor or teacher present.
