I adapt my style to whatever suits the student the best. I will work hard to help the student relate to the material in a personal way, so that it is meaningful to them rather than simple memorization. My goal is to help the person become an independent and critical thinker; skills that are not generally taught, but are crucial for their future success. I then search for a passion, and then use that passion to teach any other subjects they may be deficient in. Each student requires a different approach at different times. Sometimes a documentary will be the best way to convey an idea or find something that may excite them. Pouring over texts and solving hundreds of math problems will not help someone *CARE* about what they are learning, or help them understand *WHY* it is important that they know something.

This makes it challenging to teach concepts to the students since each student learns differently. While earning my probationary teacher’s license in Teachers for the 21st Century I learned the most effective way to teach concepts to students with different learning abilities is through the use of the Bloom method. Each child is different. On a one on one setting, it would be advantageous to allow the student some freedom so that their learning style leads to maximum learning. My goal is to teach the student to love self-learning so that the student appreciates learning without a tutor or teacher present. All children can learn in an environment conducive to learning given the tools needed to cope with whatever stress may be interfering with their education process. I strive to connect with the student so that the student knows I am willing to impart a love of learning to them, not just give them a bunch of facts.
