I have been a substitute teacher for about 10 years specializing in math & physics. I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering plus 20+ years of maintenance/engineering experience. I incorporate practical examples in teaching to give students in depth knowledge in a practical sense. I gather my examples from my varied career experiences from the Military, Aircraft, Engineering, Manufacturing/Maintenance & Computer fields. I sporadically tutors students in my specialty.
I use the Active Participation strategy because it engages the learner not only in understanding but in contributing as well. This active learning process combined with introduction of practical uses/examples of the the subject matter provides a deeper meaning. But most of all the Objective,Purpose,and what their interests are, must be known so that these can be incorporated in the learning process.

I am a patient person and am slow to anger. I believe that everyone has the potential to succeed, if given the proper motivation and encouragement. I think the best way to learn is through practice and dedication to the material.
Through out my educational career I always strive to be the best I can. I have attended private schools my entire life and have developed a strong affinity for math and science, which led me to my major in college, Civil Engineering. In high school I tutored elementary school students in English, Math, Science and worked on their Reading Level.
