I think one of my greatest strengths as a tutor is my patience with students. What I have found works effectively is to lead the student through the problem with as little intervention as possible. The problem the student usually has with the particular topic is usually a slight misunderstanding of background material needed to answer the question.

A Little Bit About Me...

During my undergrad studies, I began tutoring with children (usually 1-2 at a time) from pre-school age with phonics and sight reading until the present time with reading, writing, math, science and history. I have also worked in a private girls school as an After School Study Hall teacher for Grades 5-8 and presently I am a Substitute teacher for Grades K-6 in a self-contained classroom.
I enjoy teaching children of all ages. Being a tutor and substitute teacher has provided me the opportunity to see so much growth and potential that children have.
