Hello! My name is Payton and I am currently a student at Illinois State University. I am studying to get my bachelors in Special Education - Learning and Behavior Specialist. I have always loved working with young people and helping them achieve their potential. I have worked with mainstream and honors students to behavior disorder and severely cognitively impaired youth. I believe there are no throw-away kids and that given the right environment and opportunities, all students can learn. I have served as the 6th grade lead teacher at Rolling Acres Edison. I teach full inclusion science and social studies by integrating math and reading skills. I am responsible for leading daily team meetings concerning student data. Together we use monthly online diagnostic testing to ensure student success on state mandated tests.
