A Little Bit About Me...

I have been an educator for 5 years in the public school system. I tutored through college and while I was getting my masters degree. I have taught from grades ranging from 2nd- 10th grade. I taught elementary for 4 years and I am currently a 10th grade English teacher. I teach the material that is required to pass the Mississippi state test in order for students to graduate. I have a masters degree in reading specialty and I am qualified to teach college in the subject areas of English/Language Arts and History. Since my graduation from Ole Miss in 1985, I have had the delightful experience of teaching children from all walks of MS. The children of MS have a thirst for knowledge that is rarely discussed in the media. Our children want to learn! I've instructed every grade level from K-8, inclusive, tutored Pre-Alg,Alg I, and admin correspondence courses for students who needed a one-on-one teacher. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style varies based on the age of the student. I like to be a little more animated with my k-6 graders. On the other hand, with my 7-12 graders I focus more so on making a connection with the material--showing them how it relates to them.
