I enjoy teaching students how they learn. It is very important that students know their learning style. My goal is to help them learn how they best retain information. I believe that if a student is able to utilize all the senses that allow them to remember the information that they have received, it will build their confidence in the classroom and as they pursue higher education. As a student at Kansas State University, I have learned the importance of the pursuit of higher education. I have been tutoring for many years with different kinds of children. To begin with, I tutored my younger sister starting when she was about seven years old to age twelve or thirteen. In high school, I also volunteered for an after-school program for Hispanic children ages seven-twelve where I helped them with their homework in various subjects. In addition, I spent about four months tutoring a severely autistic child, teaching him different communication skills and helping him to form patterns.
