I have tutored children whose ages range from elementary school to high school. I have also tutored adults to help with college classes and help prepare for GED tests. I have helped children and teens from all ages in the field of English as well as performing arts. I have a passion for fine arts and literature and enjoy tutoring and helping others. I also have a passion for mathematics and have tutored several classmates in past years. Here on the campus of East Carolina University, I have been involved in several different mentoring programs to help motivate and enrich children. During the Fall and Winter breaks I assist with End-of-Grade testing preparation at church.
My teaching style varies by the student. If the student learns fast and is persitent, I will move at a faster state, but if the student learns at a normal or a slower pace I will move at a rate in which the child will get the most out of the tutoring experience.

My comments on tutoring Composition : I have a BA in English with a minor in Journalism.

For the past 23 years, I have been working with the Testing Program for the state of North Carolina. I'm currently the English Content Specialist for Grades 3 and 4 Reading. I help to write the End-of-Grade Reading Tests for NC Public Schools. I have taught high school English for one year and second grade for 3 years. I have worked for the Kenly News and continue to write for them periodically.
