Changing The World, One Child AT A Time

I was an assistant teacher to a 3rd grade class at Wilson's Mills Elementary from 2001 until 2003. My duties included assisted the teacher and helping the students in a manner to help them learn at their pace. And I also have an 8 year old son who attends River Dell Elementary. I help him on a daily basis with his homework, which includes math, reading and writing. I love kids and it brings great joy to my life to see the smile on their faces when they learn something new, or figure out the answer to a problem they are working on.

My comments on tutoring Composition : I have a BA in English with a minor in Journalism.

I like to present information in a way that immediately engages the student and makes him or her want to learn. I have a great sense of humor and like to make learning fun. I give the student the information, help him or her process the information, answer any questions and make sure he or she understands by performing the task involved.
For the past 23 years, I have been working with the Testing Program for the state of North Carolina. I'm currently the English Content Specialist for Grades 3 and 4 Reading. I help to write the End-of-Grade Reading Tests for NC Public Schools. I have taught high school English for one year and second grade for 3 years. I 19 and have an Associate in Science and an Associate in Arts. I have been taking college classes since I was a Jr in High School , and I have been tutoring my friends and younger relatives since the 6th grade. I have tutored subjects ranging from linear algebra to college calculus. I have never done formal tutoring ,and I think the most I have ever been paid for my tutoring services was a meal at cookout.
