In college, I was a peer tutor in Math, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. I have sub-taught for CUSD 5, and CUSD 87, for 3 years. I have a Illinois Type 09 Certification, which is currently valid in McLean County. I have good grammar skills, and very good mathematical skills. I completed 2 semesters of Organic chemistry, 3 quarters of College Algebra, and 2 quarters of College Calculus (single variable only) I have had a lot of experience working with autistic students, behavior disorder students, and LD students, also.
My teaching style is one which engages the student actively in the learning process. I have used the "popcorn" technique in a classroom, where I call out "popcorn", then call on someone at random. A Little Bit About Me...

I have had practical experience working as a microbiology level I technician for a major pharmaceutical company. My primary duties included many of the bench chemistry and laboratory biology techniques from college. I have completed one year of post bachelor's education at Illinois State University and am currently one semester shy of obtaining my type 09 high school teaching certification. While at ISU, I was a graduate level teaching assistant and was responsible for teaching several lab sections of Biology 101. I have documented over 100 clinical hours in a high school setting and am currently serving as a member of the Illinois Army National Guard.

His disability has taught me to be patient and open-minded with all children. I understand that all children have a different way of learning and it may take time to identify a child's learning style. I am very observant and so I can quickly pick up on how a student will learn best.
