My comments on tutoring Special Education : I HAVE BEEN A SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS AND THIS HAPPENS TO BE MY THIRD YEAR TEACHING IN THE SAME FIELD.

Used what appears to work best for students. With all methods involved such as direct instruction, small groups and monitoring. Also engaged students in peer tutoring where that appears to work best for students with low ability to comprehend and understand the basics.Also observed was involving parents in homework assignments.Students who appear to have had a constant outstanding behavior, attendance and complete their assignments are assigned some assignments in the resource class to enable them interact with other students and know that they can make it outside the moderate intervention services class.

A Little Bit About Me...

I chose teaching as a career because I love working with children and making a difference in their lives. I want my students to be successful and will use the technique that works best for each child. I have been to several workshops and training sessions to learn different methods to help students master the material they need to know. I try to make learning fun for them.
I graduated from Arkansas State University in 1974 and taught third grade for seven and a half years, then moved to another town and taught 5th grade resource for six years. I relocated to Tennessee and taught high school special education for seven years. After deciding that I enjoyed teaching younger children, I transferred to Cheatham Middle School, where I presently teach fifth grade inclusion.
