My comments on tutoring Special Education : I HAVE BEEN A SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS AND THIS HAPPENS TO BE MY THIRD YEAR TEACHING IN THE SAME FIELD.

Used what appears to work best for students. With all methods involved such as direct instruction, small groups and monitoring. Also engaged students in peer tutoring where that appears to work best for students with low ability to comprehend and understand the basics.Also observed was involving parents in homework assignments.Students who appear to have had a constant outstanding behavior, attendance and complete their assignments are assigned some assignments in the resource class to enable them interact with other students and know that they can make it outside the moderate intervention services class.

I chose teaching as a career because I love working with children and making a difference in their lives. I want my students to be successful and will use the technique that works best for each child. I have been to several workshops and training sessions to learn different methods to help students master the material they need to know. I try to make learning fun for them.
I graduated from Arkansas State University in 1974 and taught third grade for seven and a half years, then moved to another town and taught 5th grade resource for six years. Based on previous experience I have discovered that the same teaching style does not work for every child. I find that explaining each topic and asking the child question gives a clear indication of their understanding. Based on responses to the questions adjustments may be made to address each child's need.
As the daughter of educators, I have been exposed to the education system all my life. As a result of this exposure, I became very interested in tutoring and teaching. I taught for two years as a substitute teacher before attending law school. I previously worked as a substitute teacher with Morrow Elementary in North Lauderdale, Florida where I taught test-taking strategies for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test.
