Knowing that all students do not learn the same way or at the same speed I use several different programs/methods when tutoring a student. With younger studengts I use a combination of work books and computer lessons along with small homework assignments. I began officially tutoring four years ago, starting up a private tutoring business. Through it, I have taught ages 5 through 55 in nearly all subjects, including mathematics, science, physics, ACT, and English. I also have tutored publicly at Oakland University for one year, where I earned my tutoring certification (level 1). I have been a guest teacher in several school districts over the years off andd on. Since I worked in Telecommunications most of my life, I worked occasionally for agencies that assign guest teachers to different schools daily. In my current degree program, I write extensively on various topics such as human development and leadership. I have tutored before in basic math and basic algebra as well as english. My teaching style is interactive. I like to give students a chance to apply what they have learned in groups or aloud amid classroom peers.
