I have wanted to help others learn for as long as I can remember; even as early as the fourth grade I was helping my classmates with assignments. I have always loved learning and helping others to learn. I earned a BS in Psychology in college so I would have a better understanding of how the mind works and learns. I never turned a person down; if I did not know much about a subject I would research it. I even took a course that would teach me how to assist individuals with essays and research papers. A Little Bit About Me...

I have wanted to work with kids all my life. I love the way that they learn and think, and how different it is from adults. I studied Biology at Warren Wilson College in hopes of becoming a high school biology teacher. While at college, I did over one hundred hours of service tutoring and mentoring high school and middle school students in Buncombe County. Since graduating in 2009, I decided to take a break from school, and figure out where I wanted to go in life. I have been working at a local after school for elementary aged kids. Coming from an academic family with a father who is a Philosophy professor and a mother who studied child developmental psychology, I understand the importance of a quality education. I earned two bachelor degrees, one in Spanish and one in Anthropology. I have linguistic and cultural competence because of many years of traveling. I am an avid reader in Spanish and English.
