My comments on tutoring Sociology : Although I only took two semesters of Sociology in college, they were taught by a very intense and demanding professor who assigned a lot of work and books to read, and formulated incredibly difficult exams, I aced both classes, and tutored Sociology for over 10 years. So basically, I believe I a more than qualified to teach the subject more than competently.

I consider myself to be a uniquely seasoned, qualified, and experienced tutor who can adapt to any situation and to any student in order to benefit their education and learning experience. Creating Independent Learners

My experience dates back to when I was in high school in the early 80's tutoring students and family members. I've also taught classes on Management of Aggressive Behavior / Appled Non-Violence to mental health professionals throughout the Las Vegas Valley and surrounding communities. I also worked as teacher assistant in the mental health setting working with special needs students. I've worked as a Literacy Tutor at CSN in which I developed and implemented lesson plans for a class of eleven students at the middle school . As a teacher/tutor, I take a genuine interest in the particular needs of each student. Teaching has always been a part of my life. My mother was constantly teaching me, along with my siblings and the twenty other children that ran in and out of our home. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is unique. I make sure that students learn by doing, not by watching me do problems. As a student i always found that the most effective teachers used a style that allowed the student to do problems and ask questions. Today i put these practices to use in my tutoring. I believe that no child is a lost cause and that any child can learn given the right circumstances.
