As a private piano teacher, I have worked with students ranging in age from 4 years old to adult. I manage all scheduling, communication and finances for my private piano studio. Each student comes to his/her lesson with a different level of interest, experience and ability, and it is my job to further their music education accordingly. In addition to my personal expectations, I am accountable to students and parents, as measured by students' musical progress, enjoyment of lesson time, recital performance, and parents' recognition of value. I am currently a medical student at the University of Minnesota Medical School Duluth. Before I started medical school I worked as a tutor for six years with two teenage boys with autism. Under the six years of my tutoring, both of these "disabled" kids were completely mainstreamed and even taking some AP and challenge classes. I believe that any kid can learn if they are taught in a way that is fun and structured. I tutored these kids in Math, Science, Social Studies and English. I have taught music privately, for music stores, and taught and assisted with music in public and parochial schools.
