A Little Bit About Me...

From 1997 to 2001, I was a software trainer in Ft. Lauderdale Florida for corporations and as a selfcontractor. I moved to Naples and finished my BS degree in Management in the spring 2005 and starting Substitute teaching in the fall of 2005 (I taught Governement, American History,Economics, Marketing, Psychology and Sociology). I took the SAE in social science and passed in June 2006 and the SAE in Markeing in April 2007 and passed. I am now on my 3rd year contract teaching full time, this year I am teaching all Social Science. I have tutored math and SAT (math) Prep and computer skills.

In tutoring my children, sometimes their friends, in addition to training my employees, I strive to create excitement by showing a need and an application for new information. I tend to retain information if I have a use for the knowledge, and believe others feel the same. Ignorance is simply the lack of information, and can be corrected with the proper presentation and guidance. As a non-traditional student, my college experience awarded me many advantages, as well as, many opportunities to uncover hidden skills. I began tutoring for Student Support Services while attending community college in Southwest Virginia. I worked with adults, disabled and traditional students in many subject areas. This led to establishing the Eagle's Wing Mentoring Program while attending Florida Gulf Coast University for the first two years. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style would be the same way I teach my son. I give him the opportunity to learn. I work with him. I put the time in to help him. I take the time to help him, and if he get a problem wrong I help him correct it.
I have been working in the banking field for over 15 years since I graduated with a degree in business. In Jan. 2009 I was laid off from a banking job for the second time. I am doing a career change to teaching. I have been hired as football coach at Estero High School, I will be working as a teacher this fall 2009. I have been fingerprinted by Lee County School and I am cleared to be employed. I have a son that is 8 years old I help with his home work every night. Last year in the second grade they wanted him to stay back, I said I would help him. This year in second grade he is making E & S Honor Roll.
