I like to teach by example and immersion. So much of what schools preach today is rote memorization, and to a certain degree, this cannot be avoided. But whenever possible, I like to try and find real world applications and demonstrations to get my lessons across to my pupil.
Throughout high school and college, I've always excelled in my school work. I was president of the math club and often tutored my peers during my spare time. A Little Bit About Me...

I have 25+ years experience in most aspects of Computer Science. I am currently a Senior Systems Analyst at Fidelity Investments, Boston Mass, and have been working there since 1981. I was an independent Cousultant developing and implementing computer-based systems for 10 years prior. I was a volunteer Mathematics tutor at my daughters Elementary School for 2 years.
I can show many ways to solve a problem, depending on the students way of processing information. I make learning fun and can adapt easily to each individual students learning style. Having the student finally understand new concepts is the most rewarding part of the process. I teach because I enjoy it, not because I need the money.

In tutoring my children, sometimes their friends, in addition to training my employees, I strive to create excitement by showing a need and an application for new information. I tend to retain information if I have a use for the knowledge, and believe others feel the same. Ignorance is simply the lack of information, and can be corrected with the proper presentation and guidance.
