I am certified by the Arizona Department of Education in Elementary Education, K-8. My teaching experience includes 10 years of public school teaching. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th all subjects and middle school Language Arts. Five out of my ten years experience, was spent teaching 3rd grade which is my personal favorite. I worked as a tutor while doing respite work for United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County in California. I am proud to say that the young man I worked with the longest is now finishing his BA in justice studies at Cal State Dominguez Hills. I also tutored as a substitute aid for the Ocean View School District in Orange County, California. After earning my BA in journalism from CSUF I have published in a number of print and online media outlets, and I am currently pursuing an MFA in creative writing. Although instructors/tutors have a preferred teaching style, I will often mix in some elements of other styles.
