I have taught school for 29 1/2 years in Special Education . My positions were in Preschool Special Needs, Elementary Special Needs, and High School Occupational Course of Study. I have taught in both SC and NC. I love teaching preschool -elementary students. I have always had a passion for teaching because both of my grandmothers and my mother were teachers. I do not have a particular style of teaching. I prefer to talk to the individual I am tutoring and together discover the best way to teach them the subject material. I believe that everyone learns information at a different pace and that some information is easier to process than other information. I believe that individuals should be comfortable while learning in order for them to actually learn. I would never force someone to learn "my way" and would work with them on developing a way that works for both of us. Since working with the disabled folks I have learned patience is a virtue. I also learned that each person is very unique and learns in different ways. The first thing that I try to do is get to know my client, mainly focusing on what they both like and dislike about school. Then we narrow it down even further to the subject that they are having problems in. A Little Bit About Me...
