During the last 10 years I have worked with all levels of students, preschool through college levels. These areas include reading, math, english, psychology, science and social studies. I am a self starter and have worked with parents when I owned/operated my private daycare. I have since then worked with children in low poverty communities in Atlanta Georgia, in order to provide an alternative method to learning to ensure that children receive the appropriate level of understanding of various subjects.
What I have learned working with students is that many do not learn in the same manner. I beleive in what is called top process learning. As an Dillard University graduate, I achieve a high level of excellence in education. I have earned bachelor degree in Physics, and now obtaining my Masters in Electrical Engineering. During the last four years I have tutored students in English, Math, and Science. I have study French and History since my freshman year in college.

My goal when tutoring is to figure out each student’s learning style. I then present the information in a way that they will be academically successful. I use a mixture of Audio, Visual and Hands-On methods. After each tutoring session, I have my students to tell me what they have learned to insure they have retained the information covered. I have no teaching experience but I'm in the process of getting my State Of Georgia teaching certification though troops to teachers program sponsor by the Georgia Department of Labor. I also applied and was accepted in the Thomson Learning program teaching ESL in South Korea for one year. I was also employed part time as a GED Test Proctor though Harrisburg Area Community College. I was a male mentor and a member of the Big Brother Program in Harrisburg PA.
The teaching style I prefer begins with making each child feel important and presenting the material in a way that everyone understands and feels comfortable. I'm currently enrolled in the Start Smart Early Childhood Subtitute teaching program sponsored though the United Way. This training provides an on hands class stimulation and different teaching methods. It is my goal to make learning fun and rewarding.
