I have wanted to be a teacher all my life. I love working with children and teaching. I believe that children are the future and should be given the opportunity to do well and succeed in school. I like to do my best to teach students how to do something and then let them discover and practice how to do it for themselves on their own. I feel that providing good instruction and then being there to assist when needed is the best way for students to learn. I also understand that all students learn differently, so I would include the student in determining what strategies work best for him or her.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love helping children see the beauty in the world we live. That can be through solving a math problem that they struggled with or helping them learn from their mistakes. My goal is to help your child reach their full potential. I believe with the correct learning environment and focused attention a child will be able to overcome all obstacles.
During my study towards at BS in Chemistry I published a paper with a professor doing electrochemical research. I currently work at a small manufacturing company where I purchase raw materials, formulate products, supervise the manufacturing process and check the quality of the end product. Through my studies and work I have learned to apply analytical thinking to real world problems for results. During the past decade I have tutored in mathematics, science, philosophy, photography and literature.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love using different styles of teaching to see which way each individual learns best. I believe all students are capable of learning the same curriculum, but may need to be shown or approached in different ways. Some students may need a hands-on approach and some may gain more knowledge through their books. Which ever way they are gaining the most from is what I will focus on. I provide a great deal of individual feedback on assignments. I encourage the imitation of examples in writing and the discovery of other writing styles. I am sensitive to the needs and learning needs of each student.
I have always been a reader and a writer. In my degree work, I learned how to inspire others to read critically and write well. I have many years experience as a college-level instructor. I also work locally with high school students at my church. In addition, I have worked at Writing Centers at several institutions. I also have helped with successful grant writing for several local organizations.
