I have experience working with both audio/visual learners and a kinesthetic/tactile learner. The kinesthetic/tactile learner had learning disabilities akin to ADD, but still did very well in the small group environment. I believe that children who want to learn will do so given the proper setting and sufficient time to succeed. I have very high patience for children who try hard and still struggle, but I do expect the student to give their best effort at each task.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching guitar lessons for a year now. I have just graduated from Colorado State University Pueblo with my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. In my education at CSU I have also acquired six credit hours in education classes and observed 60 hours in public schools.
In my experience as a musician, I have found that teaching a subject I love can really inspire students to excel. It's necessary to spread our knowledge to others. My specialty is music, but I love to teach in general because kids need good mentors. Each child is different so I use an individualized approach to my teaching styles. We all learn differently whether we are auditory, visual, or kinesthetic learners. During my college years, at Colorado College, while obtaining my education minor and majoring in history, I was able to tutor young children that were having reading problems in elementary school. I have also done some student teaching in a 9th grade geography class. Also, I student taught an 8th grade language arts class, where I was able to incorporate art with literature, stressing the importance of art in the classroom. Recently, I was able to hold a position with a company called Science Matters- it is an elementary after-school program with a focus on science. A Little Bit About Me...

I am practical and to the point. I explain the occurrence and give examples. Once I see the students grasp the concept or idea that we are discussing, then I give them more to build on the subject. I enjoy interactions and questions because it helps seal the information. As well, in the traditional style of how school is presented I like out loud repetition because it activates the memory brain pathways which helps with maximal retention. A Little Bit About Me...

As a student athlete I understand the demands of both schoolwork and extracurricular activities. I have a bachelors degree in biology which has giving me a background in biology, anatomy, chemistry, psychology and math. Though I have not tutored before I have been a director of a daycare in which I was responsible for helping multiple students with homework.
I believe learning should be fun for both the student and the teacher. I am a vary laid back person and do not believe in putting extra presser on a student.
