Although I have been self employed for the last 6 years, I went back to school last year to add Science and Math for middle school to my certification. I passed the Praxis for both of those subjects spring of 2010. I was not able to get a full time teaching position this year. I went back to working for myself but would love to tutor. I have tutored for 3 years while I worked for Tryon Elementary school. I had great success with the students I worked with, in particular concerning math. I am very qualified to work in a tutoring capacity.
I believe in good classroom management and organized lesson plans. I set appropriate boundaries and expect the students to follow the rules that are set before them. I have been teaching music - guitar, piano, bass and music theory all of my life, but most recently contiguously for the last seven years. I have a BA in Sociology from Clemson University. I was always good in math, science and history in addition to social sciences and music.
