A Little Bit About Me...

I'm a High School senior with extensive art, AP, and science credits. I have a high GPA. I love working with childred and I have lots of babysitting experience. My mom is a speech therapist, so I have some extensive experience working with special needs children. I have no previous tutoring experience but I am very intersted in the oportunity and the experience it will provide for future careers.

In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. In 2007 I taught the same subject at The Creative Circus (roughly equivalent to an MBA program for designers, writers, photographers, and art directors). In 2008 I taught in the design department for Georgia State University. This summer I traveled to a remote region in India to teach English. I have taught GRE prep for the past 3 years, covering the verbal, quantitative (math), and analytical writing (essay) areas. As a test prep teacher, I have a close knowledge of students' approach to graduate school, and the process of improving their chances of acceptance to schools of choice. A Little Bit About Me...

I have had the unique opportunity throughout college to tutor in various areas. I was very active within a vocal performance group and had the opportunity to assist in public speaking venues frequently. I got the opportunity to assist in a fourth grade classroom, emphasizing the importance of public speaking. I just returned from a semester teaching (English) in Seoul, South Korea. I have a passion for words, for communication and above all, for understanding.

Sometimes children predetermine that they are not good at an individual subject. If you can find a way to make this subject interesting to them you have solved half the problem. To go along with my writing passion, I also have a passion for working with children. I understand that each child is different; different skill sets, different learning methods and different needs.
