I hate lecturing! I do! This is why my tutoring style is very interactive. I don't like talking AT a person, I prefer to have a conversation. My goal as a tutor is to make subjects interesting, and also to make sure they stick- so you can do well on exams. In my opinion there’s never a dull moment when it comes to science and math. I am severely enthused when it comes to particular subjects that I love. And I am well open to share it with people that are interested. Even though you find yourself disliking the subject because it is “hard” or for whatever reason, I can make the subject engaging. I like to engage the students into the subject by not just helping them by memorizing protocols, but enabling them to understand the situation. A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating with a degree in history as well as with completion of pre-medical requirements I started tutoring students grades k-12 as well as college students in math, science, english and reading. After college I completed 2 years of FAA flight training and began teaching ground and flight instruction for all levels of pilot training (including aerobatics), which has allowed me to hone my teaching skills working with so many different age groups, personalities and cultural backgrounds. I believe there are multiple learning styles. One of my goals as a teacher is to find each students' learning style and teach to fit their needs. A Little Bit About Me...

My goal as a tutor is to build the confidence of my students. I teach by extracting the information that they already know and offering supplemental information when necessary. I try to make math safe, fun, and interesting for each student I work with.
Since 2004 I have been working in the Math Learning Center at Cabrillo College. I tutor a wide variety of math levels, ranging from pre-algebra through differential equations. In the years I have worked there I have become well known as a tutor who can help a student with any question they have.
