I hate lecturing! I do! This is why my tutoring style is very interactive. I don't like talking AT a person, I prefer to have a conversation. My goal as a tutor is to make subjects interesting, and also to make sure they stick- so you can do well on exams. I also teach study skills in every session, so ideally you won't have to rely on me forever. I try to give students tools that they can use to teach them how to teach themselves- something they'll have to do if they're considering college.

Teaching can be a most wonderful adventure. I believe every child can learn. At times students or overwhelming with new concepts, and they need to be encouraged, and praise until they can accomplish the task at hand. I enjoy seeing the appearence of awareness on a childs face, when they have accomplished a goal, or solved a problem they had difficulty solving. I believe tutoring a child can be a powerful tool, and it can also unleash a potential genius.

After earning my BA and CA Teaching Credential in English, my love for the language and subject drove me to complete my MA in English and Comparative Literature in less than two years. Such an intense program demanded that I not only be highly organized, but that my analytical, writing, and verbal skills be immensely effective, as well.
