Have been teaching the piano for over 20 years. From ages 5 to 70 my curriculum teaches theory, technique, scales, chords and songs of the students choice. I am passionate for all things musical from music theory to musical instruments. This comes out in my teaching and tutoring. I have been teaching theory, piano, guitar and drums with my own curriculum for twenty years. I graduated with double BA in Music Education and Music Performance in classical guitar from Florida International University in 1997. Since 2nd grade, when my teacher sat me next to a 10-year old boy with Cerebral Palsy, it seems I have been called upon to instruct others. I tutored our high school rockstar drummer in French so he could graduate. In college I taught 3- and 4-year olds, learning as much from them, as about them. In the Army, as an instructor and Executive Officer, those child development principles and skills were frequently handy and surprisingly adaptive with young adults, and a few senior cadre. Lifelong learning has kept me fresh in a long clinical career, which is now winding down and transforming into something new. Tutoring seems like the logical next step for me.
