I like to make learning an experience. I typically try to relate certain problems or topics to the child's actual life to make it easier for them to learn. I feel as if the best way to learn is to have fun. I am an honors high school student and I have never made anything below a B in any class. My specialties are math and English, being that I receive the highest grade in the two subjects. I also love working with children to help them better understand anything I can possibly teach. I am also a very strong person, in leadership I mean. I hold one of the highest ranks in JROTC and I feel like it is one thing I do best.

I like to be interactive- when I'm teaching I prefer to work through a problem with a student together the first time, letting the student more or less watch me. The second time through, we approach the problem with a little more weight placed on the student. The third time I ask the student to attempt the problem on his/her own, and I'm available for questions. Sometimes one of the steps may have to be repeated, but this process really works well. I have tutored my friend's daughter in math and English. My methods are to understand the subject matter the students are weak on and learn it with them, displaying that it takes time learning anything and most of the work in understanding subjects are difficult. Learning something with someone makes it easier. It allows for an easier and more constant interaction. I have tutored informally throughout high school and college, both my fellow peers and lower income students. I was part of an ESL mentoring high school program during my time in New York. During my time at college, I created a mentoring committee for underclassman that focused on business related items and school curriculum.
