An in-depth education in Music Composition.

My teaching style consist of using a variety of learning technique and atmospheres. It is a good idea to study the habits and styles of other composers, classical and modern to get an idea of how that compares to the student's style. Writing or composing sample songs based on someone else's style is a good idea, such as Beethoven, or David Newman, etc. Using theory practice is useful, but doesn't necessarily define a composer. Things such as chord structures, tonalities, repetition, and familiarity will be studied. We can work on solo instruments, or orchestrations of any size. Becoming familiar with certain techniques of composition will become very useful for the student, as he/she learns to express him/herself through music.

When it comes to math, there is always more than one way to attack the problem at hand and each method appeals to different students. I usually start off with one and I can quickly tell if another would be more effective for each individual since I've noticed everyone has different styles of learning. I do believe everything mathematical can be taught and learned - there are no lost causes when it comes to math.
I received my BS in Electrical Engineering in December. I was one of two who graduated under the Honor's Program and maintained a 3.72 GPA. I've been tutoring math ever since my second semester in college and even while I was in high school. I've taken Calculus 3, differential equations, linear algebra, and discrete mathematics and received an A in each of them. I love teaching, but to students about 12 and older. I am able to relate and connect well with them, and let them learn and take pride in their progress. Especially with younger kids, a high degree of focus on my part can be necessary to keep them on task, but I find that one can be firm with them and not need to be patronizing or forceful.
