I am currently completing my final year at Vanderbilt Law School. Over the past three years, I have taught a class and provided one-on-one tutoring for students preparing to take the LSAT. A Little Bit About Me...

Writing is thinking. If I can get my students to think, I can get them to write better. We sit down with interesting texts, thought-provoking texts, and figure out what the author was trying to say and how. Then we try to do the same thing ourselves. Part of that is learning the rules of grammar, but I value those only because they let me and my students say what we mean. My classes focus on getting what we mean onto the page, and making that as interesting as possible to the writer and the reader.
After twenty-five years in book and magazine publishing, I decided to do something that mattered, so I went back to school, got a master's degree, and began teaching. This not only aids in prose development, but also communication in all forms. I believe that all children are capable of understanding parts of speech and writing well.
