A Little Bit About Me...

I tend to prefer a Socratic method of teaching where the student discovers the answer through discussion, reading and research. I will use direct instruction on occassion when the need arises but my classroom is typically humming with group work and whole class discussions.

My comments on tutoring Writing Skills : My grammar is just as spotty as yours, and I managed to graduate with a degree in writing. I hope to broaden your vocabulary and at least help you learn how to self correct. A skilled writer knows that their most valued tool is the eraser/backspace key because good writing requires a lot of repair and maintenance, always striving for a more perfect version of your first draft.

I try to approach client's problems on a case by case nature: they have a particularly hard to write paper or a class that just isn't working for them, and I will try to work closely with them to find solutions. I will not write a client's paper or perform any creative work for them, but I will edit or provide guidance as needed. While there are no shortcuts to an A, I will share what has worked for me and others in the real world.
I'm a recent college graduate from NC State, with a degree in Creative Writing.
