I have successfully completed a Beacon tutor course in preparation for individual and group tutor sessions. I led a semester long Beacon tutoring supplement course in Organic Chemistry that supported 20 junior college students. I have effectively tutored/mentored a number of high school students in general education coursework, organizational skills, and in preparation for exit examinations. I have conducted community based math group sessions for junior high and high school students. Finally, I have supported 1st and 2nd grade elementary school students in math and reading comprehension. I personally create and provide worksheets and additional materials to support students' mastery of coursework. The number of years teaching and tutoring is a fuzzy area. I am a graduate student and I have been a teaching assistant for about 2 years, which consists of instructing laboratory, discussion hours and office hours. I have a BA in chemistry, which is certified by the American Chemical Society, so my study of chemistry covered all the major fields, including the laboratory, so I know applications of most of the theories that are taught. I have been a TA for both General Chemistry and Physical Chemistry.
The best word to describe my teaching is flexible. Students learn concepts in different ways.
