I am an experienced Educator at both the secondary and post secondary levels. While teaching at Puyallup High School I received two awards for excellence for my work with special needs students. I was also responsible for developing a program that was named “Best in State” two years in a row. I have excellent teaching and communications skills. I am a published author with two books and four booklets. I have written educational curriculum to NATEF standards, developed many courses and taught classes to diverse groups of students. I am a person who likes to teach one on one. I like to find what the student's interest is and tailor their teaching to that. I believe all children have a gift and an interest that is their inner dream and helping them find that or giving them an opportunity is wonderful. A Little Bit About Me...

With my background and degree being in music, I have enjoyed finding creative ways to induce wonder and enthusiasm for learning in my students. I have always accomplished this with the utmost patience, consideration and respect. I currently work for Paradise Oaks Youth Services as a residential counselor, specifically on the 7 to 3 shift, tutoring the kids to help them complete their individual school program. At Paradise Oaks Youth services I work with emotionally disturbed teenage boys, but as a substitute teacher, I worked K12 and special education. My bachelors degree is in Applied Computer Graphics, and my Masters is in Forensic Psychology (to be completed February 2011). I plan on continuing my education to the doctoral level.

I enjoy teaching and helping children; after I graduated from Chico State I started my teaching career at Grace Christian Academy teaching sixth grade. I have been substituting for the last 10 years at different K-12 schools in the area. I have spent my spare time coaching baseball and football at both East Nicolaus and Wheatland High School. I devoted eight years to each schools program.
