I am an experienced Educator at both the secondary and post secondary levels. While teaching at Puyallup High School I received two awards for excellence for my work with special needs students. I was also responsible for developing a program that was named “Best in State” two years in a row. I have excellent teaching and communications skills. I am a published author with two books and four booklets. I have written educational curriculum to NATEF standards, developed many courses and taught classes to diverse groups of students. I do a demonstration while I lecture on a particular point, i.e., perspective, form, light, color theory, etc., then let them have time to execute a given assignment in class. At this point I give them personal attention. I have a "critque" at the end of the session and have them participate. I require constructive comments so as not to discourage anyone and to promote the notion that everyone has a unique and valuable point of view . Homework is assigned and I ask students to keep a sketchbook, which should be drawn in daily. I ask to see these ungraded books intermittently throughout the course.

I currently have my California substitute teaching credential. I have worked previously for Placed County Office of Education and Yuba County Office of Education, substitute teaching. I currently work for Paradise Oaks Youth Services as a residential counselor, specifically on the 7 to 3 shift, tutoring the kids to help them complete their individual school program. At Paradise Oaks Youth services I work with emotionally disturbed teenage boys, but as a substitute teacher, I worked K12 and special education.
