I may back track and ensure they understand the basic foundation of the principle they are learning, then move forward one step at a time, as they grasp each concept. For the past 18 years, I have held various instructor positions in both the Active and Reserve components of the Army, providing instruction in such areas as Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Surgical Technique, Emergency Medicine, Combat Lifesaver and Sterile Processing. My extensive work in medicine as a surgical first assistant and instructor gave me a unique insight into the inner workings of the human body, in both the civilian as well as the military sectors. It has given me wonderful opportunities to work with all different types of students in a broad spectrum of areas such as science, communication and public speaking, leadership roles, English, beginner Spanish (high school and college level), and writing (APA and other styles.)

I tutored philosophy students for a year while in college. I earned a master's degree in early childhood education and taught second grade for two years. I also was a substitute teacher for grades K-8th. Currently, I am a motivational speaker and a mentor through United We Mentor.
