I enjoy teaching and believe that anyone can learn mathematics if given the proper help and assistance. I am very patient with students and find it rewarding to see them succeed in the their line of study. Using alot of examples and then using a "hands on approach" builds the student's confidence and ultimately success is how I like to teach. As a mathematics major, I worked in the math lab all four years of my college experience. I would tutor others with their math and help students study for exams. I have also tutored in junior high settings and this past summer I tutored a young girl in 7th grade math. I have also tutored while in high school. I love math. I tailor my teaching style to the student. I first evaluate where the student is by building rapport, discussing the problem he/she is having, talking to the teacher, and talking to the parents. I then begin focusing on the area where the student is having difficulties. It may be that the student requires help with homework as well as review of fundamentals. Teaching is very subjective. Each individual learns according to his/her own style. What I find challenging and rewarding is to find that point where it “clicks”.
