Bilingual Certified Tutor

Learning can be fun!!

I love learning and teaching alike. My first teaching experience was in high school when I helped teach inner city children how to swim. Following high school, I earned a bachelor's degree in genetics at UC Berkeley, during which time I worked as a teacher's assistant for a genetics professor. While in medical school in Hungary, I tutored Hungarians in English, and medical students in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and biophysics. Is it a requirement and not in your field of study so you just want to pass the class or is this a part of your passion or career and really want to know the nuts and bolts of the subject. My comments on tutoring Math : SAT math tutoring

I have been teaching the SAT for the past 12 years [part time]. For the first five years I was an classroom instructor for Studyworks, Inc. [competitor of Kaplan and Princeton]. When Studyworks left California, I continued by tutoring the brothers and sisters of my classroom students. I started in the teaching field by instructing Vietnamese how to speak English in French. I spent another five years teaching aircraft systems and serving as an instructor pilot in the Air Force.
In contrast to many of the other tutors, I would not presume to even imply that I could teach your student either math or English in a few hours of tutoring. What I can do is teach your student to be very 'test wise', teach them some easily applied techniques that will get them successfully past most of the math/geometry problems, teach them how to use the grading bias to score well on a less than stellar ... read more
