My teaching style varies greatly depending on the needs of the student; however, I always try to meet the student first and then decide which approach will be the most effective. My philosophy of teaching revolves around the theory that a tutor or teacher's primary role is to support the student so that each problem can be solved by the student. It is also important to me to apply the subject at hand to the life of the student so that concepts hold meaning in an individuals life. In my experiences I have found that children learn in many different ways. Based on this I feel that individualized attention to each student makes them more successful in school, as well as, in many life experiences. Children learn by doing. With this in mind I find the best teaching style for each child. I enjoy using songs to enforce concepts in all subjects. I also enjoy having students discover and comprehend concepts on their own.
