Experience Summary
I have worked with students in all levels of elementary school through teaching as well as during my college year. Specifically I have been in classrooms of pre-k, kindergarten, third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade. I find the enthusiasm and thinking of students in upper levels very intriguing.
I graduated from Clemson University with a BA in Elementary Education in 2007. Upon graduating I have been in elementary classrooms as a teacher for three years. I enjoy working with children one on one. Allowing me to better understand their reasoning and thinking.
Teaching Style
In my experiences I have found that children learn in many different ways. Based on this I feel that individualized attention to each student makes them more successful in school, as well as, in many life experiences.
Children learn by doing. With this in mind I find the best teaching style for each child. I enjoy using songs to enforce concepts in all subjects. I also enjoy having students discover and comprehend concepts on their own. I am far from a book and paper teacher, although, the concepts learned will relate to the material taught in class.
