I believe that a child cannot fully come to comprehend subject matter without having a chance to be immersed in it first. This philosophy lends to the hands-on, question-oriented form of teaching that I so firmly stand by. I realize that different people employ different strategies in coming to learn new material and I will adjust the way I teach as best I can in order to accommodate each and every individual detail. Much the same as the famous social psychologist Lev Vygotsky emphasized the zone of proximal development, I believe that education should not be approached from the standpoint of "teaching to the test" as much as it deserves to be about aiding a child in coming up with creative alternatives in an effort to master the concept in question and develop an intrinsic motivation to actually want to learn.

My comments on tutoring SAT - Math : 2360 SAT score and got into the Ivy school of my dreams. (Also, I hated impersonal test prep classes.) We'll use guided practice, meta-test strategies, and the essential skill of "making test prep not a total drag" to ensure your/your student's success!

Fun. We'll talk about things in a way you understand, pursue strategies that are both silly and make sense, and use metaphors that are so ridiculous that you'll never forget them. I get very excited about things. It's very exciting. We'll have fun.
