Love Kids, Love Writing.

In high school, I was on our school's speech team, I competed at the varsity level all throughout high school. I placed at every competetion, without fail. I placed in advanced English classes in high school, and tested in to the second level of English classes at Western Illinois University my freshman year. I have won state wide writing competetions, and have a poem published in a book of young writers. I went to school for Journalism and Communications, but am currently taking a year off. I have also taken and passed the Illinois basic skills test, and took 2 years of Special Education courses at Western Illinois University.
I believe each student is different; therefore, I change how I approach my teachings based upon the individual.

My comments on tutoring Homework Help : I've been helping people with homework since second grade! :)

I started tutoring in high school for extra credit. I have primarily tutored in mathematics and general chemistry! I tutored a girl in Algebra 1 for a year, helped my best friend and her Mom with college mathematics, and worked through college algebra with my husband. In college I was a teachers assistant for general chemistry 1 and tutored in quantitative chemical analysis. Since then I have tutored a gentlemen for the math portion of his GED. Basically, I love the one-on-one opportunity to help people to find that "light-bulb moment" where the math and science is no longer torture, but instead it makes sense! :)

I have tutored on and off for the past 12 years. I have tutored people from 5th grade to age 50. I have much experience tutoring any type of math up to Algebra II. I believe that a child cannot fully come to comprehend subject matter without having a chance to be immersed in it first. This philosophy lends to the hands-on, question-oriented form of teaching that I so firmly stand by.
