I am a muti-instrumentalist. I have taught in group and in private lessons. I also have many experiences in perform. I perform from small ensembles all the way to solo and large Orchestra and Bands. I teach all ages and all types of students from no music experiences to the intermediate. I really do love music and this is my passion. I believe everyone have some music in them. Every student is different.

I enjoy working with all children. I believe that my teaching should be differientiated to fit the learning style of each student I work with. This is because all children learn differently and i have to use which strategy that works best with each particular student. All children can learn and succeed if they were given the opportunity. As a special education major and history minor, I have learned so much about helping children succeed. I am currently working toward my bachelors degree at Brenau University. This has enabled me to do various field experiences and an internship that deals with children of various ages. I have worked with all subjects from grades K-12. I have a social studies concentration with my major.

I work as a one-on-one tutor. It is my teaching philosophy that the best tutor leads the child to discover the answer himself/herself. Thus, I employ various techniques to help the child think about the problem in a different way. For example, when teaching a child to do arithmetic, for example, adding 8, I would tell the child to add 10 and then subtract 2. This leads to quick math computation and a better understanding of math foundations. I worked at Mathnasium for two years. Mathnasium is a math tutoring center for children ranging from kindergarten to graduating high schoolers. I taught everything from basic arithmetic to calculus. I tutored calculus at the college level. I independently advertised my tutoring services. I mostly tutored Calculus I (not including linear algebra).

Through seven years’ English-teaching experience in the United States and abroad, I have worked with students of diverse backgrounds. I have taught English composition to Chinese college students, tutored expatriate European and Latin American businesspersons, and conducted ESL classes for adults of many ethnic origins. Throughout these experiences, my background of study in British and American literature has been a source of enrichment for my students. This background and experience make me eager to help prepare learners in the Atlanta area for full participation in their respective academic and professional fields.
