I currently work with students in 3rd through 8th grade teaching music and spiritual gifts indentification classes. I have volunteered in classrooms of elementary age students during my college years. I worked with students one on one in these settings catching them up with the rest of their class on current projects. I am a true believer of rewards for excellence and this is how I teach. I believe every positive milestone should be marked and celebrated in some short way. I also am a firm believer in laying out the plan for overall growth with the student.

I have served as an instrumental music educator under contract for three years; I have been a substitute teacher in public schools for fifteen years. I have taught all grade levels. I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers as a graduate student. I have tutuored many students primarily on musical instruments.

I was president of our NHS chapter in high school and through our NHS chapter, I was an active tutor. Through my 4 years of college and student teaching, I have worked with a variety of students from all backgrounds and ability levels. I am a licensed educator, and am currently a substitute teacher in Northwest Illinois. I am an energetic and highly dedicated person. I am an advocate for constructivism, so I plan on creating an environment where my role is facilitating, challenging, and nurturing your student's learning. Students learn best when they seek information and are engaged, so I plan on accomplishing both by providing interesting lessons in a variety of ways. I was homeschooled for the majority of my education which enabled me to assit my younger brothers and sisters in their studies. I taught a few Science classes including botony and a study of birds and have tutored in highschool math as well. I played volleyball, took 3 years of piano, and was a member of Chior as well. I worked as a teachers aide in a preschool for 2 years. I worked with children from the age of 6 weeks to 5 years. I plan on going to college for either business or diognostic sonography. I love working with kids of all ages. All children are unique and they all learn in different ways. I believe its the teachers responsibllity to understand how their students learn best and then help communicate the curriculum to them in a way that they will best uderstand and retain that knowledge.
