I currently work with students in 3rd through 8th grade teaching music and spiritual gifts indentification classes. I have volunteered in classrooms of elementary age students during my college years. I worked with students one on one in these settings catching them up with the rest of their class on current projects. I am a true believer of rewards for excellence and this is how I teach. I believe every positive milestone should be marked and celebrated in some short way. I also am a firm believer in laying out the plan for overall growth with the student.

I have served as an instrumental music educator under contract for three years; I have been a substitute teacher in public schools for fifteen years. I have taught all grade levels. I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers as a graduate student. I have tutuored many students primarily on musical instruments. I love teaching and working with all children. Every child is different in their personalities. I am patient, easy going and considerate. My goal is to provide the best education possible. In addition to my music skills, I also have studied accounting at the local community college, and earned an accounting certificate. I would very much enjoy helping tutor students who need nelp with accounting skills. I can make a difference in student's learning.

I enjoy helping others learn. Something in which I have always excelled is helping them look at learning something from another view point than they have been. Learning in a hands-on manner using real life situations is the best manner in teaching any subject to a student. Over the years, I have been involved in a number of different teaching and volunteer programs including Junior Achievement and 4-H. I enjoy learning new things and sharing what I've learned with others. My background includes a variety of different jobs including retail management, the military and banking.

I was homeschooled for the majority of my education which enabled me to assit my younger brothers and sisters in their studies. I taught a few Science classes including botony and a study of birds and have tutored in highschool math as well. I played volleyball, took 3 years of piano, and was a member of Chior as well. I worked as a teachers aide in a preschool for 2 years. I worked with children from the age of 6 weeks to 5 years. I plan on going to college for either business or diognostic sonography. I love working with kids of all ages. All children are unique and they all learn in different ways. I believe its the teachers responsibllity to understand how their students learn best and then help communicate the curriculum to them in a way that they will best uderstand and retain that knowledge.
