A Little Bit About Me...

I have always found myself adept at teaching. I have a great deal of patience and a genuine fondness for instruction. As a journalism major from UF, I gained extensive writing, research and grammatical skills. I am a proficient typist and have an intimate knowledge of computers and various programs. I am grounded in functional math: an essential skill in reporting on the economy and science. I went up to pre-calculus in high school and took both Algebra and Logic in college. Current events and history were both fundamental in my schooling. My recent tutoring history is not formal, but I have helped many students and peers edit papers, understand their math homework and prepare for tests.

More About This Tutor...

I started to do community service back in November of 2009. After I was unable to find a job I stayed at the local Boys and Girls club as a volunteer. Being there so long the staff and some of the parents appreciated how much work I put into helping the kids. I was considering for a job but because of staffing issues they were unable to hire me full time.
Being around children that ranged from ages from six to twelve I had to find many different ways to teach kids how to learn things such as history even though they had problems reading and math even though they were just learning how to count. So at the start I would try a visual approach because if they could see the problem they were doing they had a chance to get the number right.
